no word on what prompted the driver to flee. police say icy conditions contributed to at least 60 accidents including a deadly crash in gamble's. -- gambrills. one person died at the scene. the driver of the truck was not injured. >> a man was exposing himself and was arrested. witnesses reported seeing him falling himself near the food court. detectives say steven lerer is the same man accosting a group of girls back in january. >> a handful of hours remain for candidates to submit their

applications to replace john leopold. jennifer franciotti is live with a look at some of the potential candidates. >> good morning. several candidates say they are considering the position, including kendel ehrlich. she is the wife of bob ehrlich. also, the vice chair of glen bernie and the council chair jerry walker of gambrills. anne arundel county john leopold resigned after being found guilty of misconduct for the way he treated his employees. also the way he used his police detail. he still faces a civil case for harassment. there was a pledge from ehrlich to make the government more efficient by not having a police detail. >> i have been driving myself now for six years. i can do it. ofwe'll hear more from some the other candidates coming up at 6:30.

the county council will take a vote on february 21. jennifer franciotti, wbal-tv 11 news. >> hopes for a new trial for john leopold have been dashed. he can still collect his state and county pension. >> the momentum in annapolis. the governor urged lawmakers to pass a measure to repeal the death penalty. he called it ineffective as a deterrent. clergy across the state promoted the bill. >> i think everybody wants to build a society that is humane. the experience has been that the death penalty does not contribute.

the body found in california on wednesday is the remains of christopher dorner. the identity was made using dental records. he killed crutcher people including two police officers. oscar pistorius made his first appearance in a courtroom where he was charged with one count of murder. prosecutors will argue the shooting was premeditated and not an accident. he could be seen wiping. he was arrested on thursday following the shooting of his girlfriend inside his home. he will be held without bail. a billion firebomb the up the sky over russia just before a meteor crashed.

kentucky and ohio. that front will go through early tonight. we will see a mix of rain and snow. there is some energy that will develop a coastal low during the day tomorrow. that becomes the complicated part of the forecast. where does the low pressure to develop. we could have a significant snowfall on wednesday. we could get almost nothing. it will probably come through in two stages. a mix of rain and snow tonight. we could get some more snow during the day on saturday. we will keep an eye on it. not sure how much snow will develop. a mixture of sunshine and clouds today. high temperature in the upper 40's and low 50's.
